In a two-part series for People’s Dispatch, Cindy Forster, professor of history and chair of Latin American studies, the impact that interim president Jeanine Ã�ñez has had on Bolivia since taking power, arguing that Ã�ñez is waging a war on women. “In her ideas about freedom of expression, Ã�ñez’s presidency is reminiscent of the era of modern dictatorship in Bolivia that lasted from the 1960s into the early 1980s,” Forster says, adding that “Ã�ñez nonetheless asserts that under her rule, Bolivia has passed from dictatorship to a thriving democracy.”
